Client Services Director - Eventwise t/a Concerto Live

Having worked as a Commercial Lawyer in my former life I decided in 1999 that I wanted to embark on a more honourable career and moved into the corporate events industry.  It was working on the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000 that I realised my true calling and that I had made the right move.

In 2002 I left behind the sunshine of Australia and moved to Scotland to continue my career in the events industry.  In 2003 I established an event management business servicing major oil clients and successfully tendered for preferred event manager supplier status with two major oil companies.  In 2010 I sold my business and it was then the Concerto Live team snapped me up.

With a proven track record within the live events arena and building long-term major client relationships, my primary role at Concerto Live is to work in close partnership with our major clients to take their relationship experience to the next level, leverage growth and ensure clients have a highly enjoyable and successful partnership with us.  My clients tell me my success is due to my energy, committment and professionalism ensuring their focus is at the heart of everything we do.  I am also actively involved with The Concerto Group's 2012 Action Group.

Away from the office I am a keen scuba diver and I have a strange passion for Minis- both old and new.

Intention Statement

Should I be successful in my ambition to join the Eventia Board, I bring access to the knowledge and experience of The Concerto Group, but also my interest and knowledge of regulatory/legislative issues.  As a former commerical lawyer I believe my skills and experience would be of benefit to the members of the regulatory/legislative committee and it would seem a perfect fit for my combination of event and legal skills.

My colleagues Mike Kershaw and Peter Jackson have both enthusiastically encouraged my nomination.

I also would like to state that during my time in Scotland I wished to be active with Eventia, however, my proximity was restrictive.  Having relocated to London I hope now to be able to realise my ambition!
