About the programme
Why Events Management?
This established and challenging programme provides both essential management theory and practical knowledge of event, exhibition and conference organising fields. It is relevant for work within companies that conceive, plan and deliver such events, and is also useful for a career in the arts, culture, heritage tourism, retail and leisure industries. With a clear focus on practical work and transferable skills, the degree culminates in a project where you design, plan and organise a live event.
Programme structure
The programme has a common first year and introduces essential management themes, including market and competitive analysis of the industry and the objectives, evaluation and impact of events. After that there is a range of modules to support your interests and career plan. Assessment is by a combination of coursework, presentations and examinations, with a final year project where students plan, deliver and evaluate a live event.
