Wales has worked hard to establish its reputation as a top-class conference destination. Conference planners looking for something genuinely different have tried us and decided to return - perhaps to a different location because the scenery of Wales is so varied. And so are the venues and the amenities.

Wales is just two hours from London by rail - but a million miles away in terms of its stress-free pace of life, its green spaces both in town and country, its 750 miles of largely unspoilt coastline, its fresh air and its friendly people.

And it is, of course, equally accessible by road or air.

The crucial point for any conference must be the venue and Wales offers a very wide choice, from the ancient and historic to the luxurious and purpose-built. The locations are equally inspiring, from sweeping bays to mountain tops, bustling commercial centres and lavish country estates.

Given the variety of stunning terrain, the leisure opportunities are endless - from walking to white-water rafting, not forgetting that we have some 200 courses in Wales - golf as it should be. We have probably more castles per acre than any other European country telling tales of our awe-inspiring history. We also have wonderful museums and galleries that record our more recent history and the language and culture of a proud nation - with a sense of humour too.
