Torquay – conference and pleasure …

Torquay is  traditionally known as a destination for family holidays and short breaks but remains a favourite for Conferences & Events as well.

Since the purpose-built Riviera International Conference Centre opened in 1987 Torquay has become a serious contender for prestigious events, playing host to a great many conferences including Liberal Democrat Spring Conventions, Association of Chief Police Ofcers, the BMA and many other prestigious Conferences that have welcomed high prole guests such as Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

The Centre offers a range of conference, exhibition and banqueting facilities and has recently added an additional room for banqueting for up to 350 guests or as an additional breakout/exhibition area.

As a top resort such as this you can expect to nd a huge selection of accommodation and Torquay is no exception. There is 2400 ensuite bed spaces with in a one mile radius  of the Centre alone, ranging from top business hotels with their own selection of conference facilities, to smaller family  run concerns and self catering establishments.

For out of conference activities or for corporate events Torquay can offer a vast choice of venues and attractions, many of which provide unusual places for parties, entertainment or even meetings. Such unusual venues include Kents Cavern Showcaves offering a most unique setting amongst the stalactites and stalagmites, the Living Coast attraction where you can dine amongst Penguins and Seals! There are luxury boats that  sail around the Torbay coastline or authentic Steam Train rides to neighbouring Kingswear and Dartmouth.
