Eventia is delighted to announce that HSBC’s former Chief Economist, Dennis Turner will open the Summer Eventia 2012 conference. He will provide a detailed look at the economic landscape and how it’s impacting upon events and business tourism.
Dennis was until recently advising lending bankers on UK economic trends not only at national level, but also on industries and regions. He is still a regular contributor to a number of professional journals and is now a full-time speaker on the economy.
Before joining Midland Bank in 1978, he worked for four years in Whitehall, for the National Economic Development Office. This was during the Labour government’s Industrial Strategy Initiative, which was an attempt to improve the performance of the UK’s manufacturing sector.
Dennis Turner’s unique keynote will kick-start the two-day Summer Eventia Conference on 23 April at King’s Place in London.
Simon Hughes, whose leading the team designing the Summer Eventia 2012 conference commented, "We passed on having an economic outlook keynote in Cardiff last year, but the feedback from our members certainly indicated that there was a real appetite out there for some insightful and expert economic advice as we face another challenging year. I'm delighted that Dennis will be providing the context for some of the really interesting themes and issues that we've been gathering through our membership surveys for debate and discussion at TSE12."
