A one day course designed as a 'next level up' to the successful Events in Action series. The course focuses on practical operational and business skills for the events industry.
Who should attend?
Agency and partner employees wishing to increase their industry knowledge as well as their core business and operational skills. Attendees will take advantage of the opportunity to share best practice with others and take away practical tools and skills that will assist them in their day to day job. The course is directed to employees with between two and five years’ industry experience.

- Finance
- How companies typically structure their finances
- Understanding ‘you’ as a cost to your company
- Understanding cash-flow and its impact on projects and your business
- Defining budget templates and appreciating what constitutes ‘profit’ on a project
- Differentiating financed and self-financing events
- VAT, TOMS and other aspects of compliance
- Communication and Management skills
- Principles of external communication with clients, do’s and don’ts, and tools available
- The communication hierarchy – internally and externally
- Collation and co-ordination of project teams
- Effective meeting management
- Communication Tools and Templates.
