The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is world renowned as a place of tranquil beauty, picturesque gardens and historic buildings with an emphasis on science and conservation. Maximising revenue from our events and venue hire is increasingly important for the funding of Kew’s conservation and research programmes.
This role will be responsible for supporting both the sales and operation sub-teams in selling and operationally delivering events across the Kew Gardens site. You will be required to respond to incoming sales enquiries, facilitate client show rounds of the venues and manage an electronic diary booking system and client database.
This role will also be responsible for managing the administration, logistics and delivery of a designated number of events. As the main point of contact, you will be responsible for liaising with contractors, caterers, internal departments and will be required to be onsite throughout the event.
You must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive and organised approach. A customer orientated focus, high attention to detail and an ability to perform under pressure are key characteristics that will be vital for a successful candidate.
You will be expected to provide support to colleagues within the events department as and when required. This post will be based at RBG Kew with an occasional requirement to support events at Wakehurst Place in West Sussex.
Previous sales and/or operational experience are essential. A committed and flexible approach to working out of normal office hours is essential as this role requires regular late night and weekend work.
